Out with the old...

...hopefully I can keep up with the new! lol Ideally, I'd love to blog but reality is that I have very little time. I started this to mark our journey to parenthood...now I want it to be about ME and anything I want it to be! :)
So here goes...

Cannon, my 13 month old baby boy and love of my life, is quite the little talker. I want to document what he says now, because I wish I had done it along the way. Anyway...words Cannon says are: yeah, what, mama, mommy, dada, daddy, yes, uh-oh, nana, shoe, baby and ONE TIME he said "I wuv oooo" Awww :) ETA: I forgot about Hi and Bye

So work has been absolutely C-R-A-Z-Y!!! Tons of mandatory overtime, but no time at home with the kids. :( I feel like I'm losing my mind. I really need a weekend getaway...but that's not going to happen anytime soon so I'll just deal with it all for now.

In other news, my throat is swollen and covered in white spots. Dr. says I don't have strep but I have adnovirus, or something to that effect. Either way, it's viral, and no antibiotics can help. So I suffer, along with this horrible headache.

I miss my family. I wish so much that there were more/better jobs back home, but there aren't...so I'm stuck here, seeing them once a month at best. :(

We decided to name Cannon after my Pappaw, the other huge influence in my life. So when that day is final, Cannon will be Cannon David Abram *last name*. Yeah, 2 middle names for a boy?!? I know I know...but it was a compromise on both of our parts. So there it is.

I'm sitting here at Panera needing to be doing work, but I'm so not motivated.

But, I do think I'll go and get ready for a home visit at 6. Later!

A Prayer

I found this prayer online....

I feel the need to post it.

Heavenly Father,
in my present need,
help me to believe
that you are aware of my anxiety
and will do what is best for me.
Give me the strength to trust you
and put the present and future in your hands.
Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Needing some hope...

Job 6:8 (King James Version)

8Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!

My Photography

I love taking pictures!!! A while back we went to a VERY old grave yard here in town called the Old Gray Cemetery. Here are some of my pictures:

Soooo foggy!

It's so foggy outside, I'm looking out the window in my office and can barely see the buildings across the street. Crazy! I need to think of something insightful to talk about considering I'm pretty boring....blah

Slacker...that is me!

Ahhh I am such a slacker!!! We finished the PATH classes on November 20, 2007. I began working for Dept. of Children's Services on December 3, 2007. Our homestudy was eventually completed and our case transferred to East Region. The day we were sent to placement we received 2 calls. One of those calls being for a 1 yr old and a 2 yr old. We missed both calls because we weren't home and placement didn't call our cell, we were devastated. A week later I received an email from our Resource Parent Support worker regarding 2 children, a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old. We decided to take this kids and it's been great!!

On January 17, 2008 Alyssa and Darin were placed in our home. I won't lie and say the beginning wasn't rocky, because it was. I cried for the first 2-3 days. We regretted what we had done and were almost to the point of closing our home, it was just so overwhelming to go from no kids to 2 kids!!! Needless to say we got over that and after about 2 weeks it was no problem for us anymore.

The children have now been with us for a little over 2 months, though it seems they have been with us longer. We are more than comfortable now and cannot imagine our lives without them. Their mom is working her plan so they are more than likely going home, it's just a matter of time...but while they are with us we try to enjoy every second of it! :)
